.EU Now Available for Registration at ResellersPanel!

Publish Date: Tuesday, November 13, 2007

It is our pleasure to introduce a new TLD at our unique reseller web hosting network!
The eagerly expected .EU domain name has been made available for registration and management through the control panel of our resellers' clients' web hosting accounts. Hopefully, this will fill the gap our European customers have been facing for so long. It took us more time than usual to incorporate this TLD (top-level domain), but we firmly believed that it's worth our efforts.

The .EU TLD is for the European Union and, thus, can be registered by any person or organization established within the European Union. Here is what you have to know about .EU domain names:

Registration Period: The registration period for .EU domain names is 1 year only, the same applies for each renewal of the registered domain name.
Domain Renewal: Renewal requests will be accepted by the date of expiration (e.g. September 14th, 2008) or by the 20th of the month of expiration, in cases when the date of expiration is after that date (e.g. September 25th, 2008).
Example: If the name expires on Sept 14th, 2008, then a renewal request must be received by Sept 14th, 2008. If a name expires on September 25th, 2008, the renewal request must be received prior to September 20th, 2008.
Pre-Configuration: Please, note that, due to the official requirement for a registrant's EU location or origin, the registration interface will prompt the registrant to enter a valid address in the European Union. The EURid registry will then check the information and will approve or reject the registration request. We will notify the registrant in case the domain registration has been rejected and will provide the reason for that rejection.
WHOIS Management: Having registered once, it is not possible to edit the WHOIS information of .EU domain names. Of course, limited corrections are possible as an exception, via the ticketing system available in the Help Center of the web hosting Control panel. However, the requested changes must not concern the personal or company name of the registrant because modification of such information is considered as 'formal transfer'. In order to change that information and, thus, execute a formal transfer of the domain ownership, the registrant must contact directly the EURid registry for assistance.
WHOIS / ID Protection: This service in unavailable for .EU domain names.
Registrar Change / Transfer: It is not possible to change the registrar of an .EU domain name.

We believe that the release of this TLD, together with our ability to host websites on servers located in Europe (Maidenhead, UK), will ensure to our European customers much friendlier and higher quality hosting services.
